Cagrilintide
An amylin analog, usually paired rather than run alone.
- Amylin pathway
- Satiety between meals
- Complements GLP-1 therapy
- Once-weekly dosing
What it is
A long-acting amylin analog studied for appetite and satiety. It works on a different pathway than GLP-1, which is why physicians often pair the two.
How it works
Amylin is co-secreted with insulin and signals fullness through the brainstem. Cagrilintide extends that signal, slowing gastric emptying and reducing meal size.
How it is taken
Weekly subcutaneous injection. Most protocols introduce it after a GLP-1 is already established and tolerated.
